What are Lycamobile Services?
Lycamobile is a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) which runs on parts of the Telstra 3G and 4G network services. This means that if you live in the metropolitan areas of Australia, then you will receive the full 4G network access of Telstra. However, if you reside in the highly remote locations of Australia, then you will get the limited access or 3G network services of Telstra.
It also offers international voice calling minutes to selected countries. This feature is included in multiple prepaid Lycamobile mobile phone plans. Therefore, it proves its slogan “Call the world for less”.

How Much Does Lycamobile Cost?
All the SIM-only mobile plans are prepaid based and have a validity of 28 days. There are basically two types of prepaid plan tiers- Unlimited Plan tier and All in One tier. Their price ranges from $19.90 per 28 days to $49.90 per 28 days. You get unlimited standard Australian calling minutes and unlimited national text messages. Many prepaid mobile plans also give you international calling minutes to selected international destinations. Extra data is charged at $0.07 per additional MB. Unlimited Plan Green gives 1 GB bonus high-speed data. Unlimited Plan L gives 2 GB bonus high-speed data.

What Extras Does Lycamobile Offer?
If you have enough credit in your account, then that will automatically renew at the end of each 28 day period. If you have less credit than required for your prepaid plan tier, you’ll instead go onto its Pay as you go plan tier for the remainder of your credit time period.
Pay as you go plan rates are as follows:
- Australian landline calls are charged at 12 cents per minute
- Calls to Australian mobiles are charged at 19 cents per minute
- Calls to other users on Lycamobile are free
- Texts are charged at 15 cents each
- High-speed data is priced at 7 cents per MB
ADVANTAGES:
- Variety of international calling plans: This MVNO’s core market is users who want or need to call internationally with high frequency. It is because it gives the largest set of inclusions relating to international calling options to a wide array of countries.
- Free calls to other Lycamobile users: If your Australian contacts are also on Lycamobile, you will pay nothing for calls made to them. It means free calls to Lycamobile users within Australia.
DISADVANTAGES:
- Uses “parts” of Telstra’s 4G networks: Like other MVNOs who uses the Telstra network services, this MVNO only has access to parts of the Telstra 4G network services. This means you get a smaller coverage map and slightly lower 4G data speeds.
- 28 days expiry: Prepaid SIM only mobile plans expire every 28 days. This means that you will have to pay more to access them over a full calendar year than with a 30 days plan.

- Recharge via online: Visit the Lycamobile online recharge web portal. Log into your account and use your credit card or debit card to recharge. Payments are accepted via many credit cards like Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB Card and Discover Card.
- Via recharge voucher: Recharge vouchers are available at multiple retail outlets, local stores, and supermarkets. Apply the recharge voucher code to your prepaid account online using the unique PIN code underneath the scratch panel.
- Over the phone: Get a recharge voucher and dial 131 from your Lycamobile connected handset. Follow the prompts to recharge your number. You can also dial *131*PIN# from your phone. A PIN is the unique PIN code underneath the scratch panel of the recharge voucher.
